Bumdra Trek: 2-day trek.

Whether you are looking for a pleasant trek or strenuous adventure, Bhutan has it all. For trekkers who don't have time for longer trek in Bhutan, this trek will give you a glimpse of the trekking experience with overnight stay in a tent. It is two days’ trek. A day to climb up to the camp site at Bumdra (3800 meters above sea level) and a day to trek back to the valley following the trail that leads to the famous landmark of Bhutan, The Tiger Nest monastery.

Dagala Thousand Lake Trek - 6 day trek.

Best season: mid-April – June and mid-September – November end.

Druk Path Trek – 5 day trek.

Best season: March – May and September – November.

Trekking is the ultimate experience of reconnecting with nature. And Bhutan having 70 % forest cover is the ultimate destination for trekking. Conquering high mountain passes, crossing crystal clear stream and rivers, and wondering through dense forest, one can experience all of this in Bhutan.

This trek is the most favorite trek in Bhutan. The trail from Paro to Thimphu will take you to explore the pristine and wonderful natural landscape of this mystic country. You will pass through the forest of blue pine, fir, rhododendrons high ridges and clear freshwater lakes. On the way visit ancient monasteries and Dzong (fortress). The elevation ranges from 2400 meters to high mountain pass of 4200 meters. This trail gives you a great view of the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt Gangkar Puensum (7570 meters), the highest unscaled peak in the world.

Jhomolhari Trek – 8 day trek.

Best season: late March – June and mid-September – November.

Trekking in Bhutan is an unforgettable experience for travelers who like taking a break from fast pace of modern life and genuinely immerse in the untouched nature of lush valleys, high mountain and fresh water lakes.

This trek remains as one of the most popular treks for anyone who loves to discover the country’s diverse landscape, flora and fauna. The trail passes through unspoiled pine and rhododendron forest. It also passes through scattered hamlets and lovely alpine meadows and reaches high pasturelands which is home to the yak herders. The highlight of this trek is the incredible view of the Mout Jhomolhari (7326 meters) and Mout Jichu Drake (6662 meters) from the camp site. The elevation ranges from 2500 meters – 5500 meters, so trekkers must have a good physical fitness level.

Laya Gasa Trek – 12 days trek.

Best season: late March – June and mid-September – November.

Trails in Bhutan are quite remote, making the whole experience more enjoyable for you. Together with your guide and trekking crew, you will hike thorough some of the most remote and breathtaking areas of Bhutan. The land of Bhutan is home to hundreds of species, and some can only be spotted in the country. On this trail, you have the opportunities to get a glimpse of Blue sheep, Takin (Bhutan’s national animal) and the elusive snow leopard (very rare sighting thou).

This trail will take you through the most picturesque places, with altitude differences between 2500 meters – 5500 meters above sea level. Starting from Paro, you will trek through scenic isolated mountain villages, striking alpine meadows and magnificent waterfalls to finish the trek at Gasa. On the trail, you will have spectacular view of the secret mountain Jhomolhari (7326 meters), Jichu Drake (6662 meters) and Gangchhenta (6840 meters). You will also come in contact with the Layaps (semi-nomadic yak herders) wo lives in the north-western region of Bhutan. This nomad spend time between their villages and high-altitude yak herding camps and have a distinctive culture and heritage.
